The fashion industry has always been Sofia’s favorite.
From Puerto Rico comes a little girl named Sofia who has Down syndrome. She had aspirations of joining the fashion industry since she was a little girl.
In February 2020, a fashion designer, Marisa Santiago, invited her to walk at New York Fashion Week, an event that was the start of the model’s journey.
“I realized a lifelong goal yesterday. Sofia said, “I was born for this, and I want to show the world that I have everything a model needs to shine.” in an Instagram post.
The model is the first one with Down syndrome casting for Victoria’s Secret
Sofia has a lifelong dream of being in the new Victoria’s Secret ad campaign. Her excitement and enthusiasm were palpable.

Sofia continues to advocate for the value of diversity and inclusion in the hopes of motivating others via her initiatives. As reported by CNBC, one of her initiatives that seeks to increase understanding of Down syndrome is Sin Limites.
