WASHINGTON, DC: Steve Bannon, a former White House strategist turned right-wing podcaster, has said that if a Democrat wins the presidential election in 2028, President Donald Trump would face jail time.
Bannon made the comment while appearing on the Thursday, March 27 broadcast of ‘Bolling!’ and raged against US District Judge James Boasberg, according to Mediaite.

During a hearing on March 15, Judge Boasberg ordered the Trump administration to take back flights transporting Venezuelan immigrants from the United States to El Salvador, where they are imprisoned.
Interestingly, attorneys for the Department of Justice dismissed Boasberg’s ruling, claiming it did not matter since it was verbal rather than written. Boasberg had requested further information about the planes’ scheduling and the number of Venezuelans on board, but the Justice Department did not offer it, according to Reuters.
Boasberg is presently presiding over a case against the government over the Signal conversation breach, in which The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, was unintentionally admitted to a Trump administration group chat where they discussed airstrikes in Yemen, according to the outlet.
During the broadcast, Bannon maintained that it was no accident that Boasberg was assigned another significant issue involving the Trump administration. He said that Democrats are trying all they can to defeat Trump.
He went on: “We are kidding ourselves if we don’t think that Democrats are pulling all stops out to stop President Trump to take the House through any means necessary to impeach Trump.”
According to Mediaite, he also said that if Democrats reclaim the House in the 2026 elections, they would impeach President Trump for the third time.
As Bannon said, “And God forbid we don’t win in ’28, President Trump is going to prison.”
He said, “And people are sitting about, still in the light of November 4th and all the inaugurations and all the b***s. We’re at war, and the events of the previous 72 hours have shown that we’re in political combat.
Notably, Trump faced criminal accusations in four different instances, one of which resulted in convictions on 34 counts of falsifying corporate documents in New York.
