After Chinese diplomat Zhang Zhisheng, China’s envoy to Indonesia, said that the dress was created in China, it reappeared online this week. The clothing was worn in January.

Zhang made fun of the United States for condemning China while supposedly continuing to buy Chinese products in a scathing post on X (previously Twitter).

Zhang also posted pictures from the Chinese social media site Weibo, where people said that the dress costs $750 at retail and that the lace was made at a factory in Mabu, China.
