On the Gold Coast of Queensland, a 17-year-old girl went missing, and after a protracted search and rescue effort, a body was found.
On Tuesday morning at around 8.30am, the adolescent girl with a medical problem was last spotted on Robina’s Bayberry Lane.
Her concerned relatives called the police to report her missing, and they conducted a search in the Carrara neighborhood ten minutes from her last known whereabouts.
“With the help of SES crews and members of the public, a land search and rescue is currently taking place in the Carrara area,” police announced Wednesday morning.
On Nielsens Road in Carrara, at the AFL ground, a command post has been established.
“Any members of the public are asked to meet there in order to assist with search efforts.”
Previously, the teen was described as Caucasian, with green eyes and blonde hair, standing about 178 cm tall.
Her relatives and the police expressed concern about her well-being because of a medical problem.
