The couple’s ultimate diagnosis was made by a doctor who had lately witnessed a similar situation with another foreign visitor. Their issues were far from resolved, though.
Katie and I each had dozens of worms in our feet. According to Windsor Star, Eddie remarked, “It’s kind of sickening to think about.”
It’s very disgusting. Something that shouldn’t be in your body is living there. To make matters worse, receiving therapy would be difficult even after a formal diagnosis.
“To top it all off, we had to get medicine from the states because Health Canada refused to give us the medication (ivermectin) we needed to treat our infection,” Katie said.
Katie sarcastically added, “Thank you Canada for your lovely healthcare you provide for us!” when it was reported that Eddie’s mother drove to America to buy the medication the pair required.
