Anna Kendrick chose to give away all of the money made from her most recent Netflix movie to a worthy cause.
The actress, who is most recognized for her part in the 2012 blockbuster Pitch Perfect, stars in the Netflix film Woman of the Hour, which chronicles a series of murders carried out by infamous serial murderer Rodney Alcala.
Although investigators believe the figure is significantly understated, Alcala followed and killed at least eight women in the 1970s. The predator may well have been responsible for 122 additional murders.
Alcala’s appearance on the television program The Dating Game to try to capture the heart of a young woman named Sheryl, played by Kendrick, is the main subject of Woman of the Hour.
The actress also directed for the first time with this production.

In a recent Crime Junkie AF podcast, the 39-year-old talked candidly about the significance of producing this movie.
The 39-year-old discussed the significance of making this movie in an interview with the Crime Junkie AF podcast.
“This was never a money-making venture for me,” she explained. “The film was eventually acquired by Netflix. However, it wasn’t until the week before the Toronto International Film Festival that I realized this film would be profitable.
However, her guilt began to take over at that point.
“I asked myself if I felt disgusted by this circumstance. “And I did,” the former student of Self Reliance went on.
I’m not profiting from the film, then. “The funds are going to—or have gone to—RAINN and the National Center for Victims of Violent Crime,” Kendrick continued, mentioning two of the biggest nonprofits in the US that deal with sexual assault.
“That felt like the least that I could do,” she stated.
Many people have already praised the presentation online, praising Kendick’s performance and her generous gesture following the release of the film on the streaming service.
“Wow, it was really really cool of her. I adore it when celebrities donate to worthy causes rather than hoarding wealth, especially for such significant organizations,” one X user commented.
“What a generous way to make an impact,” said another.
“Anna Kendrick made a fantastic move there! “She demonstrates her dedication to helping victims of crime by donating her earnings to such significant causes,” added a third.
Additionally, one person noted that “Anna Kendrick decided to devote her life to helping victims.”
Following the production of her most recent film, Kendrick revealed details of her own personal experiences with an abusive partner.
The fact that everyone acts as though nothing is wrong can often be even more agonizing than the abuse or disrespect. In a recent interview, she told the Independent, “which then convinces you that something’s not happening.”
“It causes you to wonder if you’re fabricating it all, or if you’re being overly sensitive or paranoid,” she added. “You seem insane. You are fired. Nothing happened as he brushed your hair off your shoulder.
“And yet when you’re there, you can feel the threat that’s hanging in the room,” she said.
