Jim told Sandy, his book-reading wife, one evening, “Sandy, the little girl is waving at me again from the window.” Sandy grinned at Jim’s interest in their small neighbor. Jim said he hadn’t waved back when she asked. Something about her unnerved him. She stared intently, as if to communicate or want assistance.
Sandy laughed at Jim’s worries, stating the girl was probably bored and often at the window.
