Jake Paul beat Mike Tyson unanimously in one of the year’s most anticipated boxing matches.
Netflix unofficially gave Iron Mike the first two rounds over Paul, who is 31 years his younger, but he burned out in the last rounds.
However, Paul grew into the bout, firing 278 punches with a 28 percent success rate while Tyson only managed 18 percent from 97 strikes and losing on all three judges’ score cards.
However, spectators and analysts seemed to agree on social media regarding the match.
Tyson, 58, stood in the ring, but spectators cheered his ability to withstand eight rounds with a youthful fighter.
On X, a user said: “The fact that Tyson was able to stay in it for 8 rounds at 58, against a 27 year old is an achievement in of itself.”
In another, “Mike Tyson fared well for his age. I wanted more, but we can’t beat the time. Few 58-year-old males could survive a 16-minute battle with a 27-year-old.”
A third said: “Tyson won. Can Jake Paul defeat a 27-year-old in 31 years?”
Fans blamed Tyson’s age for his defeat in the Netflix bout, one of the year’s most anticipated boxing events.
Tyson is 50-7-2 and Paul is 12-1, despite beginning well in the opening two rounds.
Iron After being questioned about his post-fight mouthguard/glove chewing, Mike said he had a ‘biting-fixation’, possibly referring the 1997 incident in which he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear off.
Fans had streaming issues attempting to get the fight started tonight, while millions at home were shocked to see Tyson’s naked a** in his locker room during a pre-fight interview.
