As Dave Coulier is diagnosed with cancer, John Stamos is expressing his support for him.

The caption for the three-photo compilation started, “There’s nothing like putting on a bald cap and showing off your Photoshop prowess to show some love and solidarity with my bro @dcoulier.” Stamos, 61, said.

“You are inspiring me with the strength and optimism with which you are managing this. “I’m proud to be by your side every step of the way, and I know you’re going to get through this,” Stamos added, adding that Coulier’s wife Melissa “is the most wonderfulest.”

Longtime friends and former co-stars were seen smiling in the first picture, with Stamos sporting a baldcap in sympathy and Coulier, 65, sporting a shaved head.

As Stamos assisted Coulier in shaving his head for the second stroke, they both chuckled. Melissa and Stamos were seen kissing Coulier’s bald head in the last picture.

Coulier exclusively told PEOPLE on November 13 that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

He became aware of his illness after an upper respiratory infection in October caused his lymph nodes to enlarge rapidly, with one region reaching the size of a golf ball. Because of the growth, Coulier’s doctors recommended that he have a biopsy as well as PET and CT scans.

He said, “My doctors contacted me back three days later and said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it’s called B cell and it’s quite aggressive.’…

Coulier told PEOPLE, “It was pretty overwhelming to go from having a little bit of a head cold to having cancer.” It has been an extremely fast-paced, exhilarating experience.

Following the announcement, he informed his Full House family, which includes series creator Jeff Franklin, Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin, and Scott Weinger.

According to the actor, “I sent a text message out because I didn’t want them to hear it from someone else,” and everyone’s response “was immediate.”
