Teen Offender Karmelo Anthony Receives String of Deliveries at Family’s $900K Gated Community Home After Claiming Financial Hardship to Secure Release

A Texas teenager who is accused of stabbing a track star to death is hiding out in a $900,000 home in a gated community, even though he persuaded a judge to let him out of jail by pretending to have little money.

Following a contentious court ruling to reduce his bond for the charges of stabbing and killing Austin Metcalf at a track meet on April 2, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony was released from prison.

According to local police, Metcalf and Anthony got into a fight at a high school track meet after Metcalf reprimanded Anthony for sitting beneath his team’s tent. Anthony did not attend the same school as Metcalf.

The disagreement intensified when Anthony pulled out a knife and stabbed the Memorial High School junior in the chest when Metcalf insisted that Anthony leave.

In the arms of his twin brother, who was also present at the track meet, Metcalf passed away. Anthony is required to wear an ankle monitor and is under home arrest as part of the conditions of his release.
