I was excited when my son brought his fiancée home, but my excitement quickly subsided, and I contacted the police.
Neither his father nor I have ever heard any information concerning Xavier’s romantic life. He told us he was seeing someone that day when he returned home with a big smirk on his face, but we never knew if he had ever dated anyone or fallen in love. He said he had never seen a more beautiful or nice woman than his girlfriend.
After three months of dating, he decided it was time to pop the question.
We were extremely excited on the day we were to meet our daughter-in-law. We wanted our son’s fiancée to have the ideal life. We extend a hearty welcome to the new member of our family. I prepared our finest meals, grilled a chicken, and made my renowned cherry pie. My husband Nathan purchased some expensive steaks in case Cindy had a preference for beef over chicken.

Everything was prepared for the momentous occasion, and the house was immaculate.
Cindy was just as stunning as Xavier had said. small, with large, blue eyes.
However, as I continued to observe her, I noticed a familiar face. The neighborhood was forewarned about the same woman by my friend Margaret. This woman defrauded her son. She forced him to spend thousands of dollars on “wedding expenses” and get her a pricey wedding ring. I was positive it was Margaret, but I had deleted the picture she sent me.
I had to keep my son from suffering heartbreak.

I asked her to accompany me to the basement so we could choose a wine because I had no idea what to do next. Cindy, who was incredibly bashful, nodded in agreement.
I hurried to the living room after locking her inside as soon as we entered the basement. I screamed, “Nathan, call the police,” and Xavier gave me a disbelieving look.
“Are you crazy, Mom? What are you doing? Still in disbelief at what I had done, he questioned.
“Your fiancée is a scammer, Xavier. Margaret’s son was defrauded by her. She disappeared after stealing his money.
Just then, the police showed up at the door. However, Cindy was completely unfrightened when they entered the basement. Instead, I was perplexed by the smile on her face.

“Mrs. Fitzpatrick, I know who you think I am, but I am not that woman,” she continued, turning to face me. My life was a living misery because of her. Cindy added that although it was clear they looked alike, people had previously mistaken her for the con artist because of their varied eye colors.
One of the policemen claimed to recall this particular case. The real con artist did use Cindy as her name, but from what I’ve heard, she has since changed it to Rosaline or Rosemary. “This woman isn’t her,” he stated, adding that the last evidence of her was in Mexico.

I turned to Cindy and apologized, embarrassed. Even though I was embarrassed to look at her, she hugged me and assured me that she would at least have a humorous story about how she met her in-laws to tell her and Xavier’s future children.
